Mobile check deposits are only available by signing into your Baselane account from your mobile phone.

Please note that you must have the check readily available to take a photo (you cannot upload pre-existing photos of checks) and you must endorse the back of the check. Checks can be made out to the account holder or the LLC name for the Baselane Banking account.

Check endorsement for Baselane Banking accounts

You will have to endorse the back of your check with 'For remote deposit with Thread Bank'.

To deposit a check:

  1. Log in to your Baselane account from a browser on your phone

  2. Go to the Baselane Banking page

  3. Click on the 'Details' button next to your Baselane Banking account

  4. Click on the 'Add Funds' button on the top right, and select 'Mobile Check Deposit'

  5. Follow the instructions shown below

  6. Make sure to endorse the back of the check with 'For remote deposit with Thread Bank'.

  7. Mobile check deposits take around 3 business days to process and for the funds to be released. Baselane’s mobile check deposit cutoff time is currently 7 PM EST. Any mobile check deposits submitted after 7 PM EST, on weekends, or on federal holidays will begin processing the next business day.

  8. Please keep a copy of the physical check until you have confirmed it has cleared

In-product experience for depositing a check (Step 5 above):

Please see the guidelines for mobile check deposit in order for it to be approved:

  • Hold the camera parallel to the item and match the check inside the guidelines on the phone

  • Vendor recommends that a flash is not used as this may wash the quality of the image

  • Background must be a dark, consistent color without any patterns or obvious texture (marble tabletops or wood grain tabletops have been known to cause problems)

  • If your table surface is not a solid contrasting color, place behind the check a sheet of paper or something that has a solid color and contrasts with the stock check color

  • If taken against a light background, the optics may have trouble reading the edges of the item and, therefore may not crop properly

  • Make sure that lighting is optimal without any shadowing

  • The check should lay as flat as possible with no folds in order to not warp the image for OCR

  • The member can also place a small dot in each corner of the check (about the size of an eraser) this will help the OCR align with the check properly and define the borders.

The following limitations may apply:

  • Daily limit: $5,000

  • Monthly limit: $25,000
