Phishing is a fraud tactic used by bad actors to obtain or steal sensitive information (such as login details, passwords, debit card information, account numbers and details), to gain access to your Baselane profile.

How do Phishing schemes steal your sensitive information?

  • Bad actors can try to obtain this information by impersonating Baselane or a Baselane employee, to try and gain access to your Baselane profile. This can be over the phone, by email, and by SMS text messages

  • They may also use a website, that appears similar to Baselane, to get you to input your login details and steal this information

  • They may also send you emails or text messages that include fraudulent links in them. By clicking these links, you can unknowingly set off malware that contains files that are capable of stealing information that is stored on your device, or even giving them access to your device and all of its information

What to look for:

A Baselane agent will never email, call, or send an SMS text message to ask for sensitive information such as:

  • Your login credentials (email/password)

  • Two-Factor Authentication code (2FA)

  • Full account number of your Baselane Banking account or an external account

  • Full card number for your Baselane debit card or an external debit or credit card

  • Full social security number

To ensure you are using the right webpage to log in, you can bookmark baselane.com/signin. Avoid going into a search browser and typing 'Baselane login' to log into your account, as this is a method that bad actors use to target people for phishing.

What to do if you think you've been phished:

If you believe that your Baselane login or Baselane Banking details have been stolen or obtained by bad actors, please contact us at [email protected], or call us at +1 (888) 586-1618 from Mon-Fri 9 AM - 4 PM EST right away.
